What is empathy?

I

t is to emotionally put yourself in the place of another to identify with that person’s feelings and emotions.

Building a bully-free future means fostering empathy and compassion among young children. By fostering empathy it will increase the likelihood they will stand up to bullies and stand up for those who are being bullied. They are able to take the perspective of someone else and feel their pain or distress.buy-button

Just the same way we teach our kids from an early age to identify words and numbers and organize their play objects, we should also teach them to identify their feelings and emotions.

A lot of times kids are scared to report a bullying situation to their parents because they have not been given the tools they need to properly express their feelings. Communication lines are so tied, and parents are not so open to their kids.

Loving and empathetic parents are the best role models for children since they learn most of their traits from their parents.

NAAIMAT  MUHAMMED

CANDIDATE FOR NYC Council

DISTRICT 16 – THE BRONX

A lot of people both young and old face bullying epidemic with cyber bullying on the rise. Bullying just seems to be a virus that is too difficult to eradicate in the world. Susceptibility to this has no exception, no doubt statistics shows that;

71% of students report incidents of bullying as a problem at their school,
90% of 4th graders report being victims of bullying,
30% of students are either bullies or victims of bullying,
1 in 7 students in grades k-12 either a bully or a victim of bullying.
We can go on and on with statistics but how can we combat this? What are we doing at community level and as individuals to ensure we have a bully-free world for us and the generation to come?

One of the things we hope to accomplish at the official launch of False Labels on July the 6th 2013 is to hold community conversation about bullying and self-esteem issues. There will be a panel discussion with community leaders to find the best ways of solving the problem of bullying.

And who else can better lead this discussion other than our very capable and powerful:
NAAIMAT MUHAMMED, youth and community champion in our community.
She is one of four candidates running for this office and the only woman. How brave and inspirational to A lot of girls AND women out there. No doubt she is the new song on the lips of all Africans in her community for her brevity.

Over the past three years as a Community Outreach Liaison for Council member Helen Diane Foster of the 16th Council District in the Bronx, she’s been able to mobilize the growing immigrant population (particularly the African and Muslim community) to be actively engaged in the civic process. Naaimat’s support for cultural diversity and inclusiveness has been a driving force behind her leadership. Working with families, schools, business owners, and community stakeholders has allowed her to identify key issues to address through policy, coalition building, and neighborhood programming. Best known for her consistent and informative communications to the community, she continues to be a source of vital information that connects constituents to opportunities. She has led, organized, and established credibility, which has helped identify her as a role model and inspiration to the youth and the community at large.
She represents diversity and adversity and achieved it with much perseverance. A woman on an empowerment journey who is willing and ready to lend her leadership to her youth, women in professions, the immigrant population, religious interfaith matters and ultimately, the pursuit of the American Dream.
I am so humbled, thankful and delighted to have your support on this empowerment journey that we all are on.

PRESS RELEASE AND PRESS KIT

**FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE**

OFFICIAL LAUNCH  AND  FUNDRAISER OF FALSE LABELS GLOBAL INC.& ITS PROJECTS.

Turning Scars into Stars-A Stirring Call to Action to Empower Girls

Marie-claire N kuja: An Inspirational story of Empowerment.

Bronx, New York, April 26, 2013, high profile women and men from around the state and beyond are on the top list of guests to officially launch Marie-claire N Kuja’s not-for-profit organization False Labels Global Inc. and her book series, the False Labels Series, on Saturday July 6th 2013 at Holy Rosary Church (Winster Hall) Bronx NY, 10469 from 7pm -2 am.

FaLaGl Inc.was established in 2012 in Bronx NY to combat the timely issue of bullying and its devastating effects in our communities and also to help women and girls worldwide with self-esteem building through education amongst other things. The night dubbed Don’t Let People Label You is expected to have community conversation with leaders and panel discussion with authors, teachers and students to find the best possible ways to combat the epidemic so as to create a safe and bully-free world for us and the generation to come.

Bullying in all its forms must stop once and for all. Back in 2012 nurse turned author Marie-claire after receiving a lot of rejection letters from publishers, turned to self publishing and published three books which soon climbed on Amazon Top 100 bestselling lists. Her provocative book series ignites the spirit of advocacy in readers, exploring empowerment, inspiration, bravery, peace of mind, forgiveness and hope. Through her writing, Marie-claire calls for advocacy to start from the home and at personal level.”It’s only in that way we can make peace with ourselves and learn how to accept and embrace our imperfections joyfully, completely and with pride”. She further shares a new vision of what must be done to live an authentic life instead of conforming to other peoples’ expectations of us or trying to fit in the status quo.

She is so delighted that a story like hers, a girl who was once considered an outcast could get so much support from everyone and get women, men and girls identify with it. This is a special night to speak, reflect, fund raise, take, give, hug, network and make a difference. We must instill a new culture of love, forgiveness, peace and harmony in our lives, communities and families.

As a teenage mother and victim of bullying, Marie-claire was not fully aware that there were millions of other women and girls going through similar situations. Once she realized the staggering number of women and girls suffering from bullying and low self-esteem, her anger was evoked to fight and stop the menace, a crime that has cost the lives of so many and leave a handful with very little or no self worth. She didn’t feel emotionally scarred only for herself but for the millions of other girls who remain invisible in the rumbles of death and low self-esteem. She was determined to break her silence and inspire millions across the globe to do the same. Rejection did not enslave her nor kept her a victim of her past, thus rather than stand by and cry over it, she took a self empowerment journey and turned her scars into stars by establishing her organization and is carrying it with passion which is fast becoming an inspiration to many globally, with her messages of empowerment engraved in the pages of her books spreading throughout the world. She with her NGO is making sure the whole world joins her efforts. Her story shows survival, triumph and empowerment of an African girl who refuses to let her life be controlled by others. And that is the story that women and girls and everyone needs to hear, that they can rise above any circumstance of oppression or abuse—That they can triumph.

Marie-claire will read excerpts from her books and answer questions, followed by panel discussions with community leaders, authors and students. The night ends with a fundraiser for the African Girls Self- Esteem and Education Fund, where guests will donate generously to support items like school fees for girls, the manufacturing of affordable reusable sanitary pads for school-going African girls, counseling and empowerment. Guests will have time to be cheered up to music by New York’s best Joe Ndams and personal testimonies from readers. The event is free but generous monetary donations will be highly appreciated.

 Full Article From Adonai Mag.

  Full Story

“Two images from my childhood come rushing to mind when I think about the person I am today, and why I am drawn to sharing my story with young girls and women all over the world”, said Marie-Claire Nabila Kuja, Founder and CEO of False Labels Global Inc., and the author of “The False Label Series”.
The first image was from the first time she was treated like an outcast and told by many that she will never amount to anything. Having a child as a teenager and out of wedlock was wrong, but not as bad as earning her the names she was called.
The second image was from the way her son was treated. Not only did people call her useless for having a child out of wedlock, they pinned that stigma on her son, calling him a bastard. It was so emotionally hurtful and destructive that it completely damaged any sense of self-esteem she possessed. Anytime she heard people call them names, it reminded her of what she was not. During that period in her life she was uncomfortable, insecure, struggling, and at war with herself; until she got tired of fighting, and one day decided to turn things around.
She was determined to know why she was created, and to what purpose she was called in life. While on a quest to find her life’s purpose, she started writing to herself (a journal). Gradually she noticed it was becoming a journey, not just a simple destination. They were real life happenings at that moment. She’d completed two to three pages a week, and they were thick, full, and ripe with feelings and thoughts. Amazingly, anytime she was down and read from her journals, she felt like an angel was talking to her; it felt so uplifting.
People around her will read them and said: “Oh! I totally felt this way or I relate so much—”. She became so fascinated with people’s stories and truths, how they were perceived by others, and how that didn’t necessarily jibe with what they felt. People would say: “she’s so put together” but didn’t know what a struggle her life was. They also didn’t know how apart she was from herself. She wished there was a book like this when she was growing up, because she had so many different struggles centered around negative belief systems she had formed, based on what other people said about her. This is a universal struggle. Some friends who read from the journal related to her story deeply.
Then she decided to test it on girls from other parts of the world, and found that they all related in one way or another to its contents. She realized that she was not alone. She discovered who she was through this journey and what her true calling was. Women were relating to her daily struggles and triumphs as she walked with God.
The question then became what she could do to help them and their situations; to empower their minds and spirits, and the generations to come?
At that point the idea of having a strong voice became very confronting, inviting and promising. She made a pact to share her story with the millions of girls throughout the world, whose lives have been complicated in the past by cultural practices and religious beliefs. She strongly believed that there is a potential that could be unleashed in young girls throughout the world if they were given the opportunity, and if they were made to believe they were capable of meeting the challenges they faced.
It was for these reasons that she established a nonprofit organization called, False Labels Global Inc., which is presently awaiting its 501(c)(3) classification.

                                                                                                                                                                           Vision

Empowering young girls and women throughout the world especially underserved communities, for global leadership through the building of self-esteem & confidence, Innovative Economic Development Strategies, and Education.

                                                                                                                                        Mission

False Labels Global Inc. which is awaiting it’s 501(c)(3) is a Public Benefit Charity organization which will be providing a range of services to assist low-income individuals, victims of domestic violence ,disadvantaged teenage mothers, through the building of self-esteem and empowerment villages in the African country of Cameroon and Beyond .These centers will serve as a place for healing, counseling and self-esteem building. Will also assist in turning perceived victims into victors, encourage young girls and women to be their own advocates, create anti-bullying programs in schools, encourage girls to tell their own stories through writing workshops, bring out the best in these women by encouraging them to be inventors and innovators and help girls who have the brains but no money to go the school. This will assist them to become productive members of their communities and the world and will also assist them in attaining the skills, knowledge, and motivation necessary to achieve self-sufficiency in all areas of their lives. The program also provides immediate life necessities such as food, shelter, transportation and health care needs, etc. In addition, services are provided for the revitalization of low-income communities and the reduction of poverty. We are looking forward to partnering with other provider agencies to improve and increase our capacity at achieving results– and to develop community resources with whom to link services and funding.
Marie-Claire Nabila Kuja’s passion to help other young women motivated and inspired her to write and publish two books [third one coming soon]; all of which are centered on the building and restoration of self-esteem and confidence in young girls and women. All her book have been featured in Amazon’s top 100 bestselling list. These are books not only for reading, but like journals with spaces for writing one’s discoveries, tracking progress, and mapping new paths. It serves as a guide for you to experiment a set of different proposals, which she drafted based on a lot of stories that she compiled from her experiences and those of many others. All in all, she wants the book to be a companion for you in your quest to design the lifestyle that matches your dreams. This series interact with common questions, offers next steps, and simplifies complex ideas. They’re great books to read on your own, but they’re even better when read and discussed in a group.

A Brief Synopsis of “What Is False Labels”:

This is a book that helps people reclaim their authentic power, evolve faster, heal, transform, and live satisfying, and fulfilling lives.
“False Labels” is a new, truly revolutionary how-to book, for people like you and I who love the human potential movement, and seek a game-changing approach to self-discovery, self-acceptance, love of life, and reality creation.
It’s about those lies we are told by the people in our lives—mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, friends, teachers and etc, about who they think we are, or what we ought to be.

Who Are These Books For?

Many want a healthy self-esteem, fulfillment in their lives, active faith, and freedom from strongholds that have held them back for many years. Many want answers as to why they have been called all sorts of names or labeled as “not-good-enough”, and feel ill-equipped to achieve their goals in life.
We are living in very difficult moments, but it’s even tougher for young women and girls all over the world.
-Who have been victims of the “virgin myth “whereby grown men infected with HIV believe that having sexual intercourse with a virgin will cure them; a situation where babies, toddlers and teenagers have been victims.
-Whose self-esteem has been compromised by men who take turns to gang-rape them.
-Whose self-worth has been damaged by men through domestic violence
-Men who sometimes feel they are not enough because of all the LOWS in their lives..
-To so many who have been considered the forgotten.

Impact From The Series:

-Teaches people from all walks of life to find their inner strength instead of trying to fit into the status-quo.
-The books can be used as a vehicle for hope, inspiration, encouragement, and awareness.
-Readers of all ages ,sex and race will begin to connect with God or deepen their current relationship with Him.
- This will result in a greater confidence, stronger self-esteem and the discovery of purpose for their lives. Armed with that, people especially women are less likely to fall into abusive relationships, depression, isolation, negative self-talk, sexual indiscretions, or living up to the stereotypes of this world.
It helps the reader to:- break out of a barely get-by-life style to live life to the fullest; stop going through life with self-pity, low self-esteem, and focus on the negative.
It teaches that we need to drop all those stories we have been told in order to become who God created us to be; and it helps the reader:-
- To have courage to accept imperfections and treat oneself kindly
-To celebrate who one is joyfully, completely, and with pride
-To know that God created everyone very uniquely to be special
-To believe that we are God’s masterpiece and can brighten the world around us.
-To believe we are enough, because we are enough.
The book series unveil a new energy that must take the whole world to action and a new vision of what must be done to save women and girls wherever they are.
Prior to this understanding, Marie-Claire Nabila Kuja was not fully aware that society makes millions of similar victims daily. She decided to break her silence, go beyond her brokenness and inspire millions across the globe to do the same. She realized that the situation had not changed. She did not watch and cry over it, but took a self-empowerment journey to work towards helping others stop the menace.
When all is said and done, her target is to reach young women and girls throughout the world, who have been considered the forgotten; so as to help tip the scales and usher in a more compassionate world; one in which every woman can believe she is enough.

“If Time heals all wounds,” . . .
. . . why does mine feel so fresh and painful after so many years?” Why am I trapped into a false identity? Why do I still feel hurt from all the names I was called as a child? Why am I stuck in my past? Why do I struggle so much with low self esteem? Many ask these questions, but few get an answer. The False Label Series responds in a bold, practical, and strategic way. Since God loves us and is for us, and created each and every one of us so unique and special, and has a plan for our lives which is prosperity and not disaster, life can be a fun adventure, one we’re free to enjoy, not one requiring us to live in pain, bitterness and low self esteem .This series interacts with common questions, offers next steps, and simplifies complex ideas.

What is False Labels anyway?

It is a system that helps people reclaim their authentic power, evolve faster, heal, transform, and live satisfying, fulfilling lives.

False Labels is a new, truly revolutionary how-to book, for people like you and I who love the human potential movement and seek a game-changing approach to self-discovery, self-acceptance, love of life, and reality creation

It’s about those lies we are told by the people in our lives—mothers, fathers, brother, sisters, friends, teachers etc about who they think we are or what we ought to be. But because Only God determines our destiny and not man, we need to wear the labels He has for us like victor not victim, like unique and special, chosen, blessed, beautiful, etc.

If we are not standing for the right values and principle, that’s a lost for the world

There is no more appreciation for women intellectuals’ because it’s all about the body and not the brain.

Fl takes the stand that the media is portraying women’s primary values as their youth, beauty and sexuality – rather than their capacity as future leaders.

Women are brought up to be fundamentally insecure

Who are these books for?
Many want a healthy self esteem, fulfillment in their lives, active faith, many want to be set free from a stronghold that has held them back for so long, many want answers as to why they have been called all sort of names or labeled as not good enough, but feel ill-equipped to achieve that goal. The False Label Series is the perfect resource for people from all works of live who are struggling with low self esteem, those stuck in the pains of their past, those who   have heeded to these false labels and have ended on the side lines of life, feeling washed out and drowning in self-pity and low self esteem

And those wandering why they are here on earth for. Whether you’re taking your first steps, gaining a big-picture overview of who are and your life’s purpose, or looking for fulfillment in your life, this series will help. It’s more than just a book. It’s a guide; not with instructions, but full of exercises. A book not only to read but to write in, like a journal with spaces for you to write your discoveries, to track your progress and to map your new path! A guide for you to experiment a set of different proposals which I drafted based on a lot of stories that I have compiled from my experiences and those of many others. All in all, I want the book to be a companion for you in your quest to design the life style that matches that of your dreams! They’re great books to read on your own, but they’re even better when read and discussed in a group.

Why self publish?
As the changing economy forces the publishing industry to morph, first-time authors face a growing challenge. If you’re not already well-known (i.e., have a significant ‘platform’), publishers are less likely to invest in you. It’s more economically feasible for them to publish a known commodity than the unknown lady. Well this unknown lady refuses to give up on a dream God has placed in her hands. That’s where you come in.

What have I done so far?

Sent out free copies of my books to people of all ages

Have been responsible for marketing and promoting my books and my presentations

Have attended the best women’s conference in New York

Have done presentations (speaking engagements) in churches and youth groups in New York where I leave.

Currently planning and working on offering one-day free workshops to girls in my community.

It’s been the most amazing self publishing two full books both of which have been best sellers on Amazon kindle, with the third book to be release in two weeks. But now is the time for me to boost up my exposure visibility and sales both on and off line. The thing is, I’ve spent ALL of my savings, all the money I get from my regular job as a nurse to get these books out. There are over 80% of people both young and old who are stuck in some identity they never asked for. There are an incredible number of teenage mothers around the world who have been considered forgotten. They need those methods and practices outline in these books.

This is where your help comes in.

Finding my true calling in writing and speaking has given me healing. It’s been a very therapeutic journey. But there is even something that will mean the world to me, getting these books and its message to those that need throughout the world

The Impact

We are living in very difficult moment but it’s even tougher for young women and girls all over the world especially with the media’s definition of true beauty and with people in our live who have their own definition of who they think we are or what we should be. So many people both young and old are wrapped and caught up in these beliefs and trapped in trends and fashions that make them to act in different ways. Most people drift through life without knowing who they are or their life’s purpose. Every one of us has a story where we are walking around feeling limited or small or not good enough.

But!!!

The False Label Series

-Re-defines beauty as not just a thing of mere looks but as something that comes from the inside out.

-A thing of not only our bodies but our brains.

-Teaches people from all works of life to find their inner strength instead of trying to fit into the status-Quo. No child of God is perfect so no need to fight to fit in or be perfect.Hey! Children of God don’t fit in, they stand out.

-The books will be used as a vehicle for hope, inspiration, encouragement and awareness.

-Women will begin to connect with God or deepen their current relationship with Him.

- This will result in a greater confidence, stronger self-esteem and the finding of purpose for their lives.

-Armed with that, women are less likely to fall into abusive relationships, depression, isolation, negative self-talk, sexual indiscretions or living up to the stereotypes of this world.

To break out of a barely get-by-life style and live your life to the fullest,

Stop going through life with self pity and low self esteem, focusing on the negative.

It teaches that we need to drop all those stories we have been told in order to become who God created us to be.

- To have courage to accept our imperfections and treat ourselves kindly

-To celebrate who we are joyfully, completely and with pride

-To know that God created everyone very unique and special

-To believe that we are God’s masterpiece and can brighten the whole world in and around you.

-And to believe we are enough because we are enough.

Each 1-day workshop will end with a sharing salon where participants will share some of the lessons they learned from the series and from other participants at the workshop.

Would you be willing to help this girl who refuses to be average, who has a passion to make a difference, and who has a plan to help spread the message of community, belonging, forgiveness, love, the love of God and acceptance to more people in our country and the world?

A HUGE THANK YOU!!!!

About me and the creation of the False Label Series

Two images from my childhood come rushing to mind when I think about the person I am today and why I am drawn to sharing my story with people all over the world. The first image was from the first time I was treated like an outcast and told by many that I will never amount to anything. Having a child as a teenager and out of wedlock is wrong but not as bad as to earn me the names I earned. The second image was from the way my son was treated. Not only did people call me useless for having a child out of wedlock, they transferred that unto to him and called him a bastard. That was so hurtful and destroying emotionally and completely damaged everything I ever had as self-worth.

Every time that I heard people call my son and I names, it reminded me of what I was not. During that period in my life I was uncomfortable, insecure and struggling. I was at war with myself .But one day, so tired of fighting with myself I decided to turn things the other way. I was determined to know why I was created and what my purpose in life is. While on a quest on finding out my purpose I started writing to myself (a journal). Gradually I noticed my journal was becoming a journey, not just a simple destination. They were real life happening at the moment. I’d completed two to three a week. They were thick and full and ripe with feelings and thoughts. Whenever I was down and read from my journals I felt like an angel was talking to me. It felt so uplifting. My own words became an inspiration to me. I was reminded of how important it is to believe in myself and remember that we are all created unique and special., I came to this wonderful self realization that I a masterpiece carefully handpicked by God. I am not a mistake, nor useless nor a failure, nor any of the other names I was called. I also realized I had to stand out instead of try to fit in. Then I decided to do what I am asking you today to do. To take off those old false labels and re-label yourself with what God says about you. He made you special and unique

People around me would read them and said: “Oh! I totally felt this way or I relate so much—”. I was fascinated with people’s truth, how they were perceived by others and how that didn’t necessarily jibe with what they felt. People would say: “you are so put together” but didn’t know what a struggle my life was. They also didn’t know how apart I was from myself. I wish there was a book like this when I was growing up. I had so many different struggles centered around negative belief system I had formed based on what other people said about me. This is a universal struggle. A friend who read from my journal related to my story so much. Then I decided to test it on girls from other parts of the world and they all related in one way or another. Then I knew I was not alone. I discovered who I am through this journey and what my true calling is on this earth.

I know women were relating to my daily struggles and triumphs as I walked with God. But how can we combat this? How can we empower our minds and spirits and the generation to come?

So the idea of having a strong voice became very confronting.

I made a pact to share my story with others because I believe only shared experiences help. I had to step out of my comfort zone and into a role I was unfamiliar with. Planning, writing and publishing a book on my own meant a very tough challenge in the real world, which was frightening at first, but once I gained confidence I embraced all challenges head on. So it was because of my own life’s challenges and experiences that I set out and swore to compile one of the best self-discovery frameworks I have ever seen. No ifs or buts. Why? Because I was fed up of—living my life based on what people thought about me.  Personal growth is my passion, and I have looked at an endless amount of materials over the last seven years to confidently be able to make that statement. The series came to me synchronistic ally as I worked on my own life’s toughest inner challenges and experiences. And it rang true. And I tested and confirmed it against many credible sources.

In fact, I believe so much in this passion and the need for it in the world, that

I have decided to give this my full attention, answer my life calling (not just this book, but helping people reach their highest potential and live in harmony with Life).

The Ultimate Goal is…. /mission

Mission to help any girl who is on the verge of dropping out of school. Her goal: to provide them with social and financial support, enabling them to finish school and become leaders in their community.

No girl left behind because of names, or child birth, rape.

Anyways, when all is said and done, my target is to reach young women and girls from neighborhood in Bronx New York to the ones in the suburbs of Africa, India and Asia who have been considered the forgotten so as to help tip the scales and usher in a more compassionate world and one in which beauty in no longer defined based on physical appearance only but the what is in the brain. A world where people learn that they are ok just the way they are. By December 2013, my goal is to have directly or indirectly reached at least 13 million book readers, app users and movie viewers.

False Labels Book 3

We hear so much about the tragic consequences of bullying  on television, in the newspapers, magazines and the radio. The lives of uncountable young people have been taken due to the primitive and vicious hands of bullies. We have also heard about the emotional scars that bullying leaves in the lives of its victims and the psychological torture . Very  long before “bullying” became  a world’s  conversation, there were people like Rosemary, Delia,Lisa etc whom we met earlier in part one, who were  faced with a gantlet of assault, teasing, taunting, humiliation and sexual harassment. They were denied  meaningful parts of their lives, education and social privileges either because they were born  with a disability or developed one somewhere in their lives. People treated them as if they are from another planet .But the children who famously were the ones causing others pain were advertised. No one saw any problem   in it. The adults didn’t care just as is happening nowadays. They couldn’t be bothered, neither did they notice or actively participated. They could stand right by someone being bullied even to the point of death but will not say a word nor take any action.

In part one we had the opportunity of getting into the lives of thirteen different people who have faced the consequences of bullying in one way or another .We have also met people who carried the effects of bullying into their adulthood and so forth. This volume is a wonderful resource for developing empathetic critical thinking skills that will fortify a new youth culture of kindness and compassion. It’s also an engaging book of short stories that will empower parents and teachers to help kids deal with challenges like peer pressure and bullying. It provides a wonderful opportunity for generating ethical and moral discussions with teens that are faced with so many negative influences of peer pressure, bullying and the media.  It also contains very excellent and practical ways on how to build a healthy self esteem and how to use one’s talents and gifts to be better citizens of the world.

   Reviews about the series.

Dr. Lum Esther calls her “an inspirational powerhouse whose brilliance shines through her dynamic books and presentations. Kindness, empathy and forgiveness are the greatest tools to give anyone, young or old before sending them-off for school or work. She discussed these principles in the most amazing manner. A must read for all”.

Miss Terry McCarthy says “Marie-claire is one of the best things coming to Africa. I applaud her courage for sharing her experiences to help others”.

Jan McCray of Bethany Baptist church Brooklyn New York says, “Her presentation remains the hot topic here at Bethany”. Her book series is a great toolbox full of strategies to fend off feeling victimized at school, work or anywhere.

Atumo Daniel Etoh Teacher and Examiner G.B.H.S Mbengwi North West Cameroon

says, “Marie-claire is a very blessed woman and will go places. She is an inspiration to millions. I hope and pray that African women both young and old will be inspired by her courage and be able not only to let go of their past, but share their own stories to in turn inspire others. Her book series and her presentations intended to giving Inspiration/Encouragement/Hope & Empowerment to people from all works of life, has already started spreading and I see the next big thing not only for Africa but for the entire world.
Contemporarily, I find the book serving as an inspirational document for the youth of today (socially, spiritually and mentally). It’s contents, if read in its entirety, would also provide encouragements as well as linkage to God for readers who might be caught in the middle. I applaud her brevity.

Etta Graham-Mitchell, MsEd, CRC, Seminarian Student says, ”Do we need another book on how to prevent bullying? You bet we do–and this is the book we need. While rooted in the principle of the Golden Rule, it is eminently readable, practical, and likely to make you successful in creating classrooms and schools where students respect and care about each other instead of bullying. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to eradicate the scourge of ‘mean classrooms’ which too often dominates our educational landscape.”

Mr. Mensa Theo says, “All her books are great but this is the greatest .This thoughtful, thorough staff development resource provides direction for establishing a strong anti-bullying program. The book takes you on a journey through the research and guides you in implementing the strategies discussed. The intervention strategies are very adaptable. She also did a great job of paying more attention to bullies because she believes any problem must be solved by looking at the root cause first. It’s very involving and has lessons for people of all ages. Plus the words to ponder, the refreshing prayers and the rewind at the end of each section make this book a GEM”

This past week I was invited to speak in two separate places and I just thank God so much .Things are picking up so nicely and people are excited, embracing, relating and loving the message and the books.

My topic was on the impact of words.Read on and share your thoughts if you so desire.

The impact of words

Have you ever been given an identity you never asked for or called any names?

In life people are constantly telling us what we can or cannot become ,what we do or don’t have. It’s just like they are sticking a label on us, “you are too fat”, “too short”, “not good enough”, “can never amount to anything”?.

Kelly was a little girl who was bullied throughout her high school years. Her school mates had put some labels on her like, geek, fat and short. She was called “the thing.” Surprisingly, she carried that burden with her throughout her first year in college. She believed what her name callers had told her, she was the “thing.” Those bad words just stuck. They were so ironed in her mind so much that when someone complimented her as being pretty, she immediately dismissed it because she thought that was another way of mocking her or maybe they just pitied her. She was so depressed that she started isolating herself from everyone. She had no friends. No one wanted her because she did not fit into their niche. All these damaged her sense of self worth. She had thought of taking her life many times because after all she did not think there was anything to live for. But one day while she was watching television, she saw reports of another teen that was teased in the same manner and decided to take his life. She immediately related to his experience and began to seek help. She got advice and support from her school chaplain and her life changed.

She began to see herself as worthy, important and also accepted and appreciate who she was and whose she belongs to.

Her brevity to seek help saved her life.

But there are thousands of people young and old who have and are going through what Kelly went through but do not have the courage or anyone to talk to. They rather keep to themselves.

Statistics shows that approx .30.000 American kids are killed every year and half of them from verbal abuse.

A lady I interviewed recently lost her daughter because she was called a whore in school and could not bear the humiliation.

I got pregnant as a teenager—very wrong yes, it’s not only considered an abomination and a taboo in my culture but wrong in the site of God. From that moment on,I was written off  as an outcast, failure, not valuable, second class girl, useless, someone who will never amount to anything and more..

But why talk about the impact of words?

I know all too well because I have been there that when used inappropriately and in the wrong place at the wrong time, words can be the biggest killer of self esteem.

Words  can build, destroy, curse or bless, cause insecurities and fears, self hatred, cause feelings of  unworthiness and can leave lasting scars.

What really matters is who you are and whose you belong.

I believe that the best way to conquer whatever people say about  you is when you know who you are and whose you belong to.

I want to challenge you today, to remove all those old false labels and start relabeling yourself with what God says about you.

You are not all those names you have been called but what God calls you. When He took time to make you and I, He made a masterpiece. You are a child of the most high God. He did not make a mistake when he created you .He thinks you are unique, special, forgiven, restored, blessed, beautiful etc

Be yourself, do not try to fit in but stand out.

You are unique and special just the way you are, fearfully and beautifully made.

God determines our destiny not man

Don’t let any words still your joy.
Our human tendency is to judge others because of stereotypes, customs or prejudices and all the wrongs they have done or their imperfections. Jesus treats people as individuals, accepting them with love and compassion. He teaches us to do the same to our neighbors.

The Power of Words teaches about how words can lift or tear down another person and how we need to be careful what we say and how we say it.

Proverbs 18: 4, “your words are like life giving water”.

There people out there who have gone through  all kind of trials and tribulations and need your kind words, those kind of words that can give them a  boost  and lift them out of the strongholds that have held them back for so long. Encouraging and complimentary words.

The Boy with The Big Nose

I read an article recently about a man in his fifties now who had carried a very  burden with him from his high school days. He had been bullied so much that he was nicknamed the boy with the big nose. That damaged him not only emotionally but in all aspects of his life. His life took a different turn. He isolated himself from friends and family members and will not go anywhere people were socializing. Every time he was walking down the street and anyone looked at him, he will immediately think they were looking at his big nose. So he bought a  very big eye glasses and wore them all the time in order  take people’s attention from his nose. But he did not feel any better. Plan B was to save some money and get a nose job.

Early this year ,his family had a very big reunion .He attended anyway but will not take part in anything or even take pictures with the family. He knew exactly how to shy away when it was time for pictures. He did this for two days but one of his in- laws took notice of what was going on and decided to ask him why. When asked, he surprisingly opened up to his in-law. He told him that when he was in high school, he was called “the boy with the big nose”. If you are reading this, just imagine how many years this man went around with self-pity, shame and low self esteem because of what he was called.Words are very damaging and destroying .The good news is that his in-law used two simple words to him which changed his life. After being so shocked to hear why he  had always stayed away from the family he thought he needed help. That help was his kind and complimentary words.”You are unique  and special and  fine just the way God made you.”This man with a big nose never had to do a nose job again because someone reached out to him with kind words.

If you are here now reading this, how do you plan to use your words? Curse or bless, build or destroy?

Whose rope are you holding? How do you want to be remembered?

And to you who have bee called so many names, what will you do with all the names you have been called? Sit around in self pity and shame, feeling all watched out and be consumed with low self esteem? Or shake it off and wear the new labels God has for you?

I want to encourage you all who are reading this to:

-Learn to accept who you are while celebrating your life and your story joyfully, completely and with pride.

-Have the courage to embrace and accept your imperfections and treat yourself kindly.

-Believe you are enough.

Because no child of God is perfect, I stand here today, not as that little girl who was once considered an outcast and was drowning in self pity and shame but as a proud child of God. I pray you will all let go of any and every word that has held you back and stand as a proud child of the most high God because you are worthy.

DON’T LET PEOPLE LABEL YOU.!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone,

I am  pleased to let you all know that False Labels Volume 2,the kindle edition is out and available at http://www.amazon.com/False-Labels-Astonishing-Browbeaters-ebook/dp/B00888HXO2

Product Description

Browbeaters! They come in many shapes and sizes. Their behavior can have lifelong effects .Their cruelty have been known to cause loneliness, unhappiness, fear, anxiety, low self esteem, depression and even the death of most teenagers. But who are these people? They are all around us: in our schools, our malls, our jobs and even in our homes.Have you ever wondered why some people find pleasure in bullying others? Have you ever wondered why there is so much hatred in the world? And have you ever wondered why some people even take their own lives because of this societal ill?

One of the main reasons for the creation of the False label series is to help free people  from the shackles of fear, insecurity and stronghold that has held them back for so long, so that  they can give themselves permission to own their excellence and live up to their highest potential. Bullying is by far one of the ways that bullies use to stick false labels on their prey. While some people know how to deal with it, others unfortunately do not. Thus, the need for “An Insight Into The Life Of A Browbeater”, which takes a closer look at the bullying problems not only from the victim’s point of view as has been the case in the past ,but  indeed focus more deeper on the bullies to find out the reasons for their actions. The author did this by way of one- on- one interview with some ex-bullies who were kind enough to open their lives to her and the readers of this book in such candid ways. Amongst other things were the bitter lessons they learned, some of which amazingly changed their lives forever, transforming some into motivational speakers and advocates for a more peaceful and bully-free world for all. The victims on the other hand shared with her the impact bullying had on them or their family members.

Of particular value is the “Rewind” section which encourages writing and keeping a journal. This makes the book more interactive and meaningful. The exercises guide readers through learning about their own feelings, dreams, and needs–while stressing that they are responsible for their own behavior and happiness. She further encourages readers, bullies or not, to use the great talents and gifts God has blessed all of us with to do good things instead of wasting time hurting others .

The author believes strongly that bullying can be stopped if we start solving the problem from the roots— from the bullies themselves, hence the reason to get deep into the minds of the bullies. The book ends with some soul searching “Take Home Words To Ponder” and very refreshing words of prayer.

“You only get back from the universe what you invest into it. In other words, we should treat others the way we will like to be treated”.

 Some Customer Reviews

Ms. Kuja has done it again! She has gone right to the source in enlisting ex-bullies to share their stories regarding what led them to their wrong choice of becoming bullies. In her graceful, non-judgmental, loving way Ms. Kuja explores and confronts the past, but also share hope by introducing the transformational power of God presence in our lives.”  She helps us to see that labels are indeed false when they kill dreams but God words can restore us to wholeness.

Etta Graham-Mitchell,

BA, MsEd, CRC, Seminarian Student

This book is really good and easy to read. I strongly recommend it to both parents and children. I encourage especially the parents of bullies to purchase this book and use as a tool to teach their children that there is more to them than just bullying. Bullying is a very serious issue that has a prevalent impact in our society today. The author emphasizes the need for a collective call for action in the fight against bullying and not something to be taken lightly. This is because it does not only damage the self esteem of it victims but cause the death of lots of teenagers who don’t know any better. This book is packed with lessons that will empower and inspire anyone who reads it.

A friend of mine mailed this book to me from the United States. At first I was very reluctant to read it because I was at a point where I didn’t think any advice was enough to stop me from taking my life.

After a few days, my sister entered my room and was attracted by the very beautiful book cover. Then she picked it up and never kept it down. She got so glued to the book that she called in from her job in order to finish it. Then I get so curious and wanted my gift [book] back which was not happening because she had to be finished with it first. I finally had the opportunity to read this book .The writer is a God’s sent. I did not have to kill myself again. She writes like an angel yet somehow transcends words and communicates directly to the reader’s heart. This is a classic, masterpiece, yet it is so honest that each time you read it; it speaks right into your heart. We see so often now how people are taking their lives because of bullies. This book comes with a fresh, new voice as the author emphasizes a sense of ownership in the reader for his/her own happiness. Her one on one interview with ex-bullies is a big eye opener as to why people bully,–to make you feel worthless. She talks about the importance of knowing who you are and whose you belong too and also to use our God given talents and gifts to making the world a better place .She reminds us all of the golden rule which is doing unto others what we what done unto us.                                                                                                                                                                                      Monica Mullita –United Kingdom

This is  what people are already saying about the book.

I love this book and wish I had it as a child. It is an excellent and empowering tool that helps readers develop a healthy self esteem and self worth. During the course of the interviews with some ex-bullies, the author did bring to light various ways that bullies use to intimidate and subdue their victims. The various characters showed how they came to self realization and changed their ways through positive affirmations which I think is needed by everyone. I wish I could rate this work even more stars. It is a  gem and a must read for everybody.Kudos and more kudos to you author Kuja.
